Greetings from Ansar!
As the head of the institution I am proud to present the thirty eighth annual report of Ansar English School which is meant to inform parents, stake holders and the larger school community about the school’s accomplishments, and the efforts it is making towards the realization of its cherished goals. Through this report, together we will try to identify the strengths as well as areas for improvement and enhancement of quality.
The upsurge in our performance has gained further momentum in this academic year out of quality administration, unity of staff, involvement of parents and smartness of students. The steady growth in admissions-KG: 682;UKG-X: 355; XI: 232 reflects the trust of the public in Ansar. As of today, there are 2382 boys and 2299 girls. The total number of students in KG section is 682. From the whole lot of students 111 boys and 59 girls are hostellers. The total number of teaching staff is 243. The number of support staff is 205. This year we recruited 47 new teachers.
The accredited institute of NIOS has an enrollment of …………. students this year- …………. students in secondary section and ………… in senior secondary section. The institute provides assistance to students in the areas of registration, conduct of examinations, library and academic activities like Personal Contact Programs ( PCP).
The best result in the history of Ansar was realised and celebrated in this academic year. 66 students scored above 90% (X:38/248 & XII:28/215). FIZA AFSAL(98.8%) stood atop in AISSE and Naeema A Hassan, Ridhiya V Rimson, NarveenK, Sanjana Sajeev, Afreen Anwar, Amiya Shabana, Fiza Afsal and Hasna Ishak procured CBSE Merit certificates. Asna K.A (97.2%) & Nihal Noufal (95.3%) stood atop in the AISSCE in Science & Commerce streams respectively. Asna & Muhammed Sharon bagged CBSE proficiency certificates from CBSE, for being one among the top 0.1% students in Biology and Accountancy respectively.
This year, in 2019-20, a total of 292 students have been registered for the forth coming AISSE-Grade X . For the AISSCE – Grade XII, a total of 215 students have been registered. They are being trained towards academic excellence by our dedicated and experienced staff.
A number of up gradation activities and quality enhancement programs are going on in the campus. Primary section is expanded to the new N block with a separate ground, computer lab and activity halls for our primary students. AES auditorium which witnessed innumerable events is renovated with a fresh look and better facilities this year. A fully furnished indoor activity hall is set up for the LP section too. We ensure that better drinking water facilities are provided in each building.
This year Ansar English school hosted many events organized by Thrissur Sahodaya, IECI and other external bodies. Secondary Teachers Training and District Football t\Tournament were the main events hosted for Thrissur Sahodaya. Training for teachers of primary and middle classes, Principals’ conference on Innovative strategies, LEAP state level examination, Hikma result declaration ceremony, INSPIRO state level Quranic competition, workshop on question paper setting were among a few programs hosted for Integrated Education Council India. Our school served as the venue for State level MTSE exam organized by Ganita Sasthra Parishad. We were able to do justice to each of the events hosted with the expertise of our staff and support extended by the management.
Empowering the teaching staff is the first step towards enhancing the quality of education in any school. Teacher orientation programme began early in the month of April and included sessions on Educational Leadership, Innovative pedagogy, ensuring positive changes in students, learning disabilities, class management and class control and managing adolescents. International trainer Dr. Maaney Paul, Dr. Mahmood Shihab, Dr. Salil Hassan, Dr. Hashim Rifai, Dr.Babu, Mr.Nisam A P and Mrs. Mumdhase were among the trainers. Throughout the year 2019-20, teachers have attended numerous in-school and external training programs organized by CBSE, Vidya Council for Eduction and Thrissur Sahodaya School Complex. Our teaching staff participated in the Staff Kalotsav hosted by Sahodaya School Complex Thrissur and secured eighth position among 110 schools with two first prizes and two second prizes: Mrs. Krishnaveni, Mrs. Shabreena Hyder, Mr. Salin Simon and Mrs. Nisa were the winners.
Parents are the important stakeholders in any school system. We believe that their meaningful involvement in school matters will certainly enhance the school’s effectiveness. With this end in mind, a series of parent meetings and open days were conducted. A parent teacher council is in operation wherein parent representatives and teachers are members. The council working in accordance with a set of bylaws is presently led by Dr.Shameer Sulaiman as its president. PTC meetings are held periodically to evaluate the working and progress of the school community. PTC President is a member of the school discipline committee and SPC Advisory board.
Academic achievements are reflected in competitive exams too. A series of tests are conducted for students of all classes including unit tests and term exams to assess them periodically and ensure their academic progress. Apart from these, our students are also tested through various talent search exams organized by external bodies such as Thrissur Sahodaya, IECI, Ganitha sasthra Parishad, Students Police Cadet and Smart brain Quiz contest. Achievements in the field of competitive exams are listed below:
- 2nd rank in class :6 for Zahra Subair in ELPSE Conducted by Sahodaya School Complex, Thrissur.
- 3rd rank for Ulsavu Krishna in category :2 and 2nd rank for Hamza Jawed Khan in category: 4 in Ujjwal Prathiba Examination Conducted by Sahodaya School Complex, Thrissur
- 25 ranks in the state level exam, LEAP Conducted by Integrated education Council, India
- 3 ranks in Al Hikma Examination Conducted by Majlis Madrassa board.
- The Mathematics project on ‘Fibinocci Series’ prepared by students of Secondary Section was presented at the 19th State Level Children’s Maths Congress held at Kottayam.
- 3rd prize in Quiz on Food & nutrition organized by the Association of food scientists and technologists India, Thrissur.
- 1st prize in Dhai akar letter writing competition organized by Govt of India.
Special coaching was given for the students of class X for National Talent Search Examination, NTSE by external as well as internal faculties. Talented students of class 9 and 10 are trained for Civil Service Examination on every weekend. This academic year special activities are included in the timetable once in a week for classes 3 to 8 to help students master one activity per year. The activities include Karate, Taekwondo, Arts, Craft, Computer applications, Music, musical instruments, dance, Hifz, indoor games and outdoor games. Roller skating is conducted as an afterschool activity on three days a week for students of UP section.
Each child is gifted and is unique. Cultural fest is conducted by each section from KG till twelfth standard to unveil the inborn talents of our students on 6 different days. Systematic arrangements for organizing the competitions were made in the auditorium by our dedicated staff. There was plethora of events conducted under each category with an objective of providing a common platform to our students to showcase their embedded skills in various fields and to compete to improve their abilities. The team spirit of the four houses Ruby, Emerald, Diamond and Sapphire with efficient House captains shows a lot in the performance of group activities. In the area of co curricular activities, CCA, a clear system is in place for selecting students for various competitions and coaching them with the support of specialists. Students selected on the basis of performance in school level competitions are trained to participate in District Kalotsav hosted by Sahodaya. Students who secured first and second prizes in District Kalotsav contested in the State Kalotsav held at Muvattupuzha and secured good points.
Sports and games in school not only helps children to be physically fit but also helps them to develop skills such as teamwork, leadership and patience. It makes the children active and increases self-esteem. Separate Annual Athletic meets were conducted by each section to ensure student participation from all ages. The best performers from school participated in various interschool competitions and brought name and fame. The exceptional achievements made in the area of athletics and sports are as follows:
- 2nd runners up in CBSE state Boys Kabaddi Tournament held at Thripunithura.
- Winners of CBSE state Girls Kabaddi Tournament held at Thripunithura with awards for the best defender and best all-rounder.
- 1st runners up in Thrissur Sahodaya Indoor Games ( Carroms) held at Chavakkad.
- Third position in Badminton Singles of Thrissur Sahodaya Indoor Games held at Chavakkad.
- 2nd runners up in CBSE state Football Tournament held at CMI Chalakkudy.
- Winners of Thrissur Sahodaya Football Tournament held at Ansar English School, Perumpilavu with the awards for the best goal keeper, best forword and top scorer .
- Fourth position in CBSE State Athletic Meet held at Ernamkulam with 104 points and 25 medals.
- Overall third position in under-14 and under-17 categories in Thrissur Sahodaya Athletic Meet held at L F Muringoor with 4 Gold medals, 13 silver medals and 7 bronze medals.
- First Runners up in Thrissur Sahodaya Kids Athletic Meet held at Govt.Engineering College, Thrissur.
- Third position in under-17 category of Open Chess Championship held at Sakthan Thampuran College, Thrissur.
- Second runners up in Sahodaya Girls Kabaddi Tournament held at Mannuthy.
- Overall third position in the inter-district Athletic meet organized by IECI at Mount Seena, Pathiripala with overall first position in category-2 and third prize for March Past.
- Overall third position in under 10 category in all kerala Open Kids Athletic Meet held at Thope Stadium Thrissur.
Learners are mainly of four types- visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinesthetic. Each type of student expresses their feeling in different ways. Fine art competitions provide students a platform to display their creative and artistic abilities. We conduct in-school drawing, colouring and painting competitions as a part of CCA. Art and craft exhibitions are conducted frequently to showcase the talents of our students.
Our exceptional achievements in interschool fine arts competitions are as given below:
- Overall winners with 13 first prizes, 15 second prizes and 18 third prizes in the All Kerala Bala Chithra Rachana Mela organized by K C Y M at Thrissur.
- Overall winners of Metro Colour Fest with 1 first prizes, 12 A+ and 10 A grades held at L F College, Mammiyoor.
- Overall Winners of District Level Painting Contest organized by Comates Circle , Kunnamkulam with 3 first prizes.
- Overall second position with one first prize in the Mother Theresa Painting Competition conducted at Townhall, Thrissur.
- 2 first prizes and 2 third prizes for colouring and Quiz in Freedom quest 2019 held at Al Ameen School, Edappally.
Reading, like writing is a creative art. School magazine is an opportunity for students to show their creative talents. It also develops their power of thinking and strengthens their imagination. This academic year, at Ansar, we published 72 manuscript magazines from classes 1-12. These magazines were released in section-wise special assemblies by eminent personalities from the field of literature. We also published small books written by our students as a part of English club activity.
Students’ original works from all these magazines have found their places in the Annual School Magazine.
Our students have left their fingerprints in the field of Literary competions too. Ansar team bagged overall trophy in the district level Lingua-Fanta 2019 competitions held at Thrissur , English Fest held at Darul Falah Poopalam and overall sixth position in the state level Lingua Fanta Competition held at Manjery with first prize for The Art of Story Telling and 3rd Prize for Mock interview. Hamza Jawed Khan of class XI procured Best speaker award and rolling trophy in the extempore conducted by Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kolazhy.
Around 300 students registered from classes 2 to 8, in the second consecutive year of Ansar Hifz initiative, gets an opportunity to learn Quran from experts three days a week. The wonderful achievements reflect our determination to develop the right values in our stuff.
Our students’ achievements in the interschool Islamic competitions are as follows:
- Over all winners of INSPIRO’19 Quran Fest interschool competitions held at Mount Hira, Pattambi.
- Over all winners of Inspiro ’19 State level Quran Fest organized by IECI at Ansar English School, Perumpilavu.
It is very important that students are trained on life skills along with academic subjects. Our students are trained by internal and external faculties periodically to boost their confidence and introduce them to different walks of life. Session on Drug abuse awareness by Excise Inspector Mr. Krishnakumar, on Legal Awareness about adolescent issues by retired SP Mr. Akbar, session on how to face exams without fear Mr. Mishal Usman are a few among them. Apart from these, workshops for students are conducted as a part of club activities too.
17 different clubs namely Keraleeyam, English, Debate, Maths, Science, Fine arts, Music, Arabic, Eco, Health, GK, Anti-drug and Traffic clubs are very active in the campus. Students can select the clubs according to their talents and interests. 2 major activities were conducted by each club in this academic year. A variety of programs took place in the campus as a part of club activities, to foster their talents and organizational skills. NSS, SPC and Scouts & Guides stand as separate institutions within the campus. Residential and outdoor camps , trainings and community outreach activities are conducted periodically by all these clubs.The school has 4 platoons of student police cadets (SPC) including boy and girls. There are 78 members in the SPC, 44 juniors and 34 seniors. The remarkable service of Mr. Aboobacker, Mrs. Sreeshma (SPC); Mr.Manaf , Mrs.Deepa (Scouts & Guides) Mr.Chandran (NSS) deserve special appreciation in this regard.
A bunch of activities were organized in connection with the SPC day and 10th anniversary celebrations.
Observance of important days throughout the year help increase the abundance of knowledge among the students, boost their confidence, provides chance to perform on the stage and improve different skills. Ansar English school observed 28 days of National or International relevance in the academic year 2019-20 across all the sections from LP to Senior secondary with a variety of programs such as Awareness sessions, rallies within and outside the campus, field trips, special assemblies, cultural programs, exhibitions and food fests. National festivals of India were celebrated in the school campus with a patriotic fervor. On November 14, the teachers and children remembered Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru, our first Prime Minister, and celebrated the love that he had for all children with a host of fun-filled activities and sweet distribution. Selected student groups conducted a rally in the Perumpilavu town area and traffic club members run an awareness programme outside the school. Gandhi smriti was set as a part of Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations and Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala and Kerala Piravi day were celebrated in the best traditional way including cultural programs, Sadhya, Pookalam competitions, games, food fest and art and history exhibitions to help our students know the Kerala culture in a better way. Students of senior sections utilized September 5 to honour the teachers of the entire school.
This year the school organised pleasure trips for students of LKG, UKG, classes 2, 4,6,8,10 and 12 to different locations such as Calicut, Ooty, Coorg and Mysore, Chikmangalore. They are important to help bridge the gap between education and hands-on experience and in building a strong emotional bond between the teacher and student.
Other major events in the year 2019-20 are as follows:
- Visit to Space Exhibition set by ISRO at Vidya Academy of Technology.
- Award ceremony by Sathyasai Seva group of Institutions for participating highest number of students in Essay writing Competition.
- Karate Award and belt distribution ceremony.
- Sashi Tharoor’s visit to Ansar Campus as a part of publishing three books written by Dr. Mohammed.
- Formation of Constitution Protection Circle by senior students.
Even though the Kinder Garten section stands as a separate building, these tiny tots add more colour and life to the whole campus. The KG section celebrated Colours Day in July, Fruits Day in August, Flowers Day in September, Childrens Day in November and Kids Fest in January. Parents are frequent visitors to the school. To acknowledge the efforts of grandparents, Ansar Kindergarten decided to conduct a Grandparents Day in February with fun filled activities and feast.
By education, we aim at the holistic development of the child. Students of Ansar had voluntarily taken part in many of the community outreach programs in this year. Our secondary and senior secondary boys and alumni members were active workers in relief camps during the flood. They collected money and materials for the affected families. Our students from primary till senior secondary had visited Ansar Special School, Abhayam -an old age home and home for mentally challenged, Marymatha orphanage Akkikkavu, Karunyabhavan- home for mentally challenged women, old age home at Kuttippuram and Pratheeksha Bhavan- home for mentally challenged youth at different occasions and contributed educational stationery, study materials , food, cleaning materials and financial aid. Spending a day with them was more valuable than the amount handed over. The NSS housing project is completed this year also and the key was handed over by Mr.K V Mohammed, CEO of Ansari Charitable Trust on the Annual Awards Day. Volunteering all such community programs teaches students skills that are valuable in life. Our staff and students offer a helping hand whenever any member of Ansar family is in financial need. Approximately an amount of Rs.10,00,000/- was collected in the year 2019-20 for various community outreach programs.

This award goes to students who maintained consistently high level of performance in curricular and co-curricular activities, and also exhibit brilliant leadership skills and personal qualities.
The whole school has been divided into 4 houses for the purpose of organizing intra-mural competitions. At the house level competitions, the Sapphire house won the trophy for the best performance. Congratulations to all the house members.
Our school has always been trying to support financially challenged sector of the society and has spent an amount of Rs- 45,90,553 /-as charity to support the students by way of fee concession, free uniforms, books and lunch. Altogether 402 students are benefitted from various concessions.
This report must not be complete without commemorating Mr. C. Muhammed Rasheed, our beloved former Principal who returned to the Creator on 3rd January 2020 after prolonged illness. It was under his leadership our organization has developed to the present status. We do pray very sincerely for his eternal success.
The prospect of future is bright. A number of up gradation activities and quality enhancement programs are in the pipeline. I assure all stakeholders that the school will certainly move towards perfection in clear terms.

Dr. Salil Hassan
