Expressions pursue its glide through the campus this year 2012, motivating its members to experience the pleasure of reading. Reading week was celebrated in the first week of July with an exhibition, oath taking ceremony, best reader competition, literacy quiz etc. Expressions proudly claim that it has enlightened many of the students to read and enjoy. On the reading day the whole campus was engaged in reading. Best readers were selected and awarded category wise. In the month of November there was a film show ‘DESPICABLE ME’ (animated film) and a discussion took place highlighting the merits and demerits of animated films. Expression has plan to enrich the communication skill, word power, idiomatic usages of all members in winding up.
Science club is a wonderful tool, useful to improve the culture of science learning. The science club for the academic year 2012-13 was inaugurated on 19th July 2012.There was 97 boys and 109 girls as members. The science club activities stated with a very class on Astronomy by Mr. Aboobacker, Dept. of Moral studies . To enable the students to bring out the hidden talents to achieve progress, a science exhibition was conducted on 12th December. It was a collection of simple science experiments and exhibits various topics.It is decided to conduct a science symposium in the Month of January 2013.Beingn a member of science club the students grow and develop not only with an analytical approach to things or tasks but also to observe things around them and ask questions, conduct research and built knowledge on topics of interests.
GK club is a new arrival into the cluster of clubs. The vision is to enable students to face the challenges of competitive tests and examinations those people who lag behind in tests and exams are left out. To avoid this frustrating situation GK club is motivating and training students to face competitive exams without fear. Confidence building and developing “YES U CAN” is the prime objective.
The name of the club “ALBAB” which means intelligence. We started our activities with a general quiz completion in June. There were two rounds category wise. The club was officially inaugurated on 5th by Mr. Ashif , Lecturer of Farook College, Calicut who is also a trainer in our civil orientation academy. He delivered a motivational speech which really inspired many students. The same day we conducted the final round quiz competition to select quiz team for category IV and V. We have scheduled a PowerPoint presentation on current affairs in the second week of January. 2013.
There are 162 members in the club 91 girls and 61 boys. Activities of the club started on 4th July 12012 by a first aid class by Dr. Shafeeque M D, a former student of Ansar English school. These class was meant for boys .Similarly for female members first aid awareness class was given by Miss. Sana Varma a former student of Ansar.Consequent to the awareness programme senior girls and boys of the club gave first aid awareness to all students of classes VI-XII on 6th November 2012. As a part of the programme, first aid kits are made ready to use by the members of the club for the use of students. An awareness class was given to students of XI and XII by the volunteers of MIMs. An eye checking for all students is the next activity. Students are made aware on first-aid practices to be given at the time of causality like sprain, fracture and dislocation. They are required to keep a First aid box.
MATRIX – the mathematics club of Ansar started this year’s activities on 2nd July.183 club members were divided into small groups. Each group visited classes from VI-XII and highlighted the importance of ‘National Mathematical Year’. They also shared some tricks to make multiplication easy. There was a PowerPoint presentation on the same day on “Vedic Mathematics’. Club also visited State Ganitha Sasthra Mela held at Kozhikode on 29th November. It was a wonderful experience. A wporkshop on ‘Origami and teaching model’ is scheduled in January 2012.
Music club kicked off in Ansar campus on 25th July 2012. First of all the club divided its members into four groups for the purpose organizing activities. The first programme was the Mappilappattu competition which was then followed by light Music competitions. The participation of students in these competitions was appreciable. Besides these competitions the groups prepared projects based on topics such as Hindustani Music, Carnatic Music , Western classical Music and Folk Music. In all these projects and competitions the team work of the students was highly appreciable. The club elected Wasim Akram and Manjusha as club secretaries from the boys section and girls section respectively.
